Maybe the greatest role of wheels is that it can allow people to move objects heavier than the weight of themselves. The most popular usage of potter wheels, made of pottery, is transportation. Before the invention of wheels, the ancients needed to carry or move heavy things with sleds. The simplest sled is an inclining board and some more complicated sleds are added with several rolling bars under the heavy goods, the ancient Egyptian piled gigantic stones into the Pyramid just with this method. Although the ancient Egyptian should be enlightened by rolling bars to invent wheels, the people using wheels earliest were not the ancient Egyptian. The technology progress brought by the use of wheel has been responded to the significantly system reforming. Population increase enabled some villages to develop into cities governed by new religious dignitary and the later warlord and the administrative chief. The emergence of cities owes to the growth of agricultural productivity which brings surplus for feeding the emerging priestly caste, soldiers and bureaucracy. The course of development is not accidental or one-side. In recent years, some people were in controversy in regard of “whether technology reform determines the system reform or vice versa, which reminds us a controversy in the earlier period about mankind evolution “Is it that man brain had existed first, then the mankind culture came out, including language and tool making?” Now it has been agreed that the former and the later are interact with each other, that is, language and tool making are the reason for brain evolution and also the result of brain evolution. It seems alike for technology reform and social reform, they had interacted with each other first and finally they fostered reform and civilization. Planters in the New Stone Age provided surplus to the dignitary in the dominant position, and turned to peasants from tribe members, which was not that they agreed to do so or be forced to do so at one time; on the contrary, this is a gradual development course during which the reason and the result are in interaction and closely correlated.
